On Thursday, the 69th National Film Awards were declared. While Rocketry: The Nambi Effect received the Best Film award, Sardar Udham took up the Best Hindi Film award. Allu Arjun, Kriti Sanon, and Alia Bhatt took up the top acting awards.
The winners’ reactions were as follows:
Kriti Sanon’s
Kriti Sanon, who won Best Actress alongside Alia Bhatt, gave a lengthy statement on Instagram. She received the award for her role as a surrogate mother in Laxman Utekar’s Mimi.
She also sent a letter to Alia at the end that said, “Congratulations Aliaaaaa! Very highly earned! I’ve always liked your art, and I’m overjoyed to be able to celebrate this monumental occasion with you!”

The Kashmir Files
Anupam Kher shared three images from The Kashmir Files on Instagram. He also shared a fourth behind-the-scenes photo with filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri. In the caption, Anupam wrote, “NATIONAL AWARD: We are overjoyed and thrilled that #TheKashmirFiles has received the prestigious and significant Nargis Dutt award for #BestFeatureFilm on national integration. I am overjoyed for this acknowledgment of our picture, not just as an actor but also as an executive producer. Vivek Agnihotri, who is now in the United States, uploaded a video of his film The Kashmir Files winning the Nargis Dutt Award for National Integration. He named the honor after Kashmiri Pandits.”
RRR
Rajamouli’s action epic RRR SS Rajamouli RRR received six prizes. “It’s a SIXERRR…,” the filmmaker tweeted. Congratulations to the whole RRR team for receiving national recognition. Thank you to the jury for the honor…:) Prem Master, Bhairi, Peddanna, Srinivas Mohan garu, Solomon Master.”
Gangubai Kathiawadi
“I’m happy for everybody who received awards for my film and other films, and everybody who has won,” said Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who won two Oscars for Best Editing and Best Screenplay for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Good movie receives recognition and a pat on the back from the government, as well as nationally and from a respected jury, and it always offers you delight.”
The Nambi Effect in Rocketry
R Madhavan, the director and main actor of Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which won Best Film, shared a screenshot of the TV screen announcing the award, as well as a photo of himself with his mother. “Wishing you the happiest birthday Amma,” he posted on Instagram. Best wishes, appas, and Nambi sir.”
Shershah
Karan Johar released a still from his production, Vishnu Vardhan’s action film Shershah, on his Instagram Stories. The film won a Special Mention for its performances by Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani. Karan shared the poster with tiranga emojis.
Dharma Productions, his producing company, tweeted, “Apne desh se bada koi dharam nahi hota.” We are pleased that #Shershaah has won the Special Jury Award in the Feature Films category at the #69thNationalFilmAwards. Tripathi, Pankaj
