Earlier in July, Rajinikanth finished filming on Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s directorial debut, Lal Salaam. A new poster announcing the release date of the much-anticipated film is now available. The film’s producers revealed on Sunday that it will be premiered in theatres during the Pongal festival in January 2024, with Rajinikanth appearing in a cameo role. The film stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the key roles, with a cameo appearance by Kapil Dev.

The directors tweeted on Sunday, “Lal Salaam to hit screens on Pongal 2024,” without specifying a specific date. The new image has Rajinikanth, who was most recently seen in the movie Jailer, standing in front of a vintage car near a cricket pitch. A fan responded by tweeting, “Will wait eagerly for this movie.” Someone another remarked, “Only few months to go now for another Rajinikanth blockbuster.”
Pongal 2024 is crammed with people.
It appears that several Tamil films will be released during the festival in January of next year. Ayalaan by Sivakarthikeyan was the first to announce its presence in Pongal. Sundar C’s Aranmanai 4, Arun Vijay’s Vanangaan, and Jayam Ravi’s Siren are among the other films set to be released during Pongal 2024.
Concerning Lal Salaam
A Subaskaran presents Lal Salaam, which is produced by Lyca Productions. Lal Salaam will be released in the following languages: Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Rajinikanth will play a character named Moideen Bhai in the film, which is about friendship and cricket. Former cricketer Kapil Dev will also appear in the film as himself. In his first collaboration with Aishwarya, Vishnu, and Vikranth, AR Rahman is creating the soundtrack and background score.
Shooting Lal Salaam
Aishwarya Rajinikanth was supposed to make a film starring Atharvaa in the lead role and Rajinikanth in a cameo appearance in October 2022. However, in November, Aishwarya revealed her next directorial, Lal Salaam, which stars Vishnu Vishal as a cricketer and Vikranth in the major part, via social media. Filming began in Chennai in March 2023, with a muhurat puja held in December 2022. By August, the team had completed the filming.

Previously, Aishwarya took to Instagram to share images from the set of her upcoming film. Rajinikanth and her were photographed beside cast members Vishnu Vishal and Jeevitha. “Making a movie with you is something miraculous and you are pure magic appa (father)… Lal Salaam, Moideen Bhai… and it’s finished for THE SUPERSTAR,” the filmmaker captioned the picture.
