Venkatesh, the most lovable actor, has linked up with HIT fame Sailesh Kolanu for the action drama Saindhav. This is his 75th film and features an ensemble star cast. Versatile actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is making his Tollywood debut. Let’s see how the movie is.
The film, set in a fictional city called Chandraprastha, tells the story of Saindhav Koneru, also known as SaiKo (Venkatesh). He works as a crane operator for the customs department. Saindhav has a daughter, Gayathri (Baby Sara Palekar), who is cared for by Manogya (Shraddha Srinath), a taxi driver. Gayathri experiences a fainting spell in school. When Gayathri is taken to the hospital, the physicians diagnose her with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Gayathri requires an infusion worth Rs. 17 crore. What did Saindhav do next? Has he saved his daughter? What is his link to Mitra (Mukesh Rishi), the leader of a narcotics and weapons cartel? This is what the film is about.

Victory Venkatesh’s performance in Saindhav is exceptional, and he carries the film from beginning to end. The actor’s screen presence is impressive, and he delivers a powerful performance in action scenes. There are a few emotional scenes, and Venkatesh is at his best. The last half-hour of the film is filled with engaging action scenes, and Venky’s performance is particularly impressive.
The closing half-hour of Saindhav is fascinating, with terrific action scenes and Venky’s action persona. The Bujjikondave song is attractive on screen. Nawazuddin Siddiqui attempts to introduce a humorous aspect into the movie, and he elicits a few chuckles here and there.
Saindhav’s idea is good and has a lot of potential, but the director couldn’t come up with an interesting narrative. The screenplay is flat for the most part, the world-building isn’t done well, and the first half-hour is slow and unexciting. There are many dreary moments in the first hour.
The production qualities are great, and the imaginary city has been cleanly represented by cinematographer Manikandan. The art direction team did an outstanding job. If the background score had been fantastic, the movie might have been much better. The editing is fair.
Saindhav has a good concept, but the narrative is underwhelming and flat for the most part. Venkatesh’s dashing performance and the last half hour are the most significant assets of Saindhav. Despite having talented actors by his side, the director didn’t provide them with good roles. The background score is another major drawback, which significantly reduces the impact. Venky’s performance and a few emotional moments make the movie an okayish fare.
