Mumbai: Just hours after multiple schools in Delhi and Bengaluru received chilling bomb threats, panic spread to Mumbai on Friday when Swami Vivekanand International School in Kandivali was hit with a similar warning email. Police and bomb squads acted quickly, but after a full sweep of the premises, nothing suspicious was found. Early signs point to the threat being a hoax—but the fear it sparked was very real.

Parents Panic as Threats Spread Beyond Delhi & Bengaluru
It wasn’t just one school. Two other schools in Mumbai reportedly received similar emails the same day. While nothing harmful turned up, the situation caused serious anxiety for students, parents, and staff.
The Kandivali Police along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) wasted no time launching a thorough search. Thankfully, no explosive devices or dangerous materials were discovered.
But the big question remains: Who is behind these threats—and why?
Same Day, Same Pattern: 60+ Schools Targeted Nationwide
Earlier that morning, chaos erupted in Delhi and Bengaluru when over 60 schools were hit with near-identical bomb threats. Bengaluru saw 40 schools targeted, and Delhi 20, including major institutions like Summerfield International School, GD Goenka, and St. Thomas School.
One of the most disturbing emails came from an account named roadkill333@atomicmail.io, containing violent, graphic language designed to instill maximum fear.
“I will erase every last one of you from this world… Not a single soul will survive,” the email reportedly said.
Police forces across states are now working together to track the origin of these messages.

Political Reactions: AAP vs BJP
As expected, politics jumped in quickly.
AAP leader Atishi slammed the BJP-led central government, accusing them of failing to keep Delhi’s children safe.
“More than 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think of the trauma. BJP controls all 4 engines of governance in Delhi and still can’t ensure basic safety,” she posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, central and state-level cybercrime teams are racing against the clock to trace the source of the threatening emails and determine whether this is a coordinated hoax or something more serious.
Should Parents Be Worried?
While no actual explosives have been found so far in any of the schools across Delhi, Bengaluru, or Mumbai, the psychological impact is undeniable.
Experts advise parents to stay calm but alert, and schools are beefing up security measures as a precaution. Authorities are also urging people not to share unverified information online, as it only adds to the panic.
What to Know Right Now:
- No explosives found in any school so far.
- Probe ongoing to trace IP sources and email origin.
- Schools in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai were affected.
- Parents advised to stay calm and avoid rumors.
