Week 2 college football shocks shook
up the AFCA Coaches Poll. Chaos
didn't reach the top, but things
became tighter. Alabama is still No.
1, but Georgia's strong start has
narrowed the distance
Alabama got 39 of 65 first-place
votes, while Georgia got 25. Ohio
State remains No. 3 and earns the
last No. 1 ranking. Clemson and
Michigan remain 4 and 5.
The top 10 looks different after that.
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are
next, then No. 8 Southern California.
No. 9 Michigan State climbs.
Kentucky and Brigham Young go up.
The Wildcats jump 10 positions to
No. 10 after beating Florida, while
the Cougars climb 11 spots to No. 14
after beating Baylor in OT.
Texas A&M drops from6 to 22 after
losing to Appalachian State. Baylor.
falls 11 places to 19th. Texas falls to
No. 20 despite beating Alabama by 1
point.
Tennessee is No. 16 after beating
Pittsburgh in overtime, while Penn
State is No. 23. Notre Dame hasn't
been ranked since September 2017.
Wisconsin lost at home to
Washington State and dropped out.
