India's third-cleanest state is Maharashtra.

According to the findings of the Central government's annual cleanliness survey, which were released on Saturday,

Surat and Navi Mumbai tied for second place with Indore as the cleanest cities in India for the sixth consecutive year.

Prior to Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh had won the "Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022" category for best performing state.

This year, the top two large cities were still Indore and Surat, but Vijayawada dropped to third place behind Navi Mumbai.

According to the poll results, Tripura has earned the top spot among the states with fewer than 100 urban local bodies.

At a ceremony held here on Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the prizes to the

winners in addition to Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs.

Panchgani in Maharashtra was placed first among cities with a population of under one lakh,

followed by Patan (NP) in Chhattisgarh and Karhad in Maharashtra.
