Apple iPhone Warning In Short:

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), has issued a high-level alert for Apple iOS and iPad OS devices. The warning, issued on March 15, is available on the official CERT-In website.
According to CERT-In Reports, multiple vulnerabilities were discovered in Apple iOS and iPadOS, which could allow someone to attack the system, cause it to stop working, run any code they want, access sensitive information, and circumvent security measures.

- Apple vision OS versions prior to 1.1 (Available for Apple Vision Pro)
- Apple tv OS versions prior to 17.4 (Available for Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K (all models))
- Apple watch OS versions prior to 10.4 (Available for Apple Watch Series 4 and later)
- Apple mac OS Monterey versions prior to 12.7.4
- Apple mac OS Sonoma versions prior to 14.4
- Apple mac OS Ventura versions prior to 13.6.5
- Apple X code versions prior to 15.3 (Available for macOS Sonoma 14 and later)
- Apple GarageBand versions prior to 10.4.11 (Available for macOS Ventura and macOS Sonoma)
What’s the Solution?
According to CERT-In, users must download and install the most recent version of the operating system available for their devices.
Moreover, CERT-In says, “The vulnerability “allows an attacker to trigger a denial of service condition, execute arbitrary code, disclose sensitive information, and bypass security restrictions on the targeted system“.
They added that, “The issues in Apple’s iOS and iPadOS were caused by “improper validation” in the Bluetooth, libxpc, MediaRemote, Photos, Safari, and WebKit components. There are also privacy issues in the ExtensionKit, Messages, Share Sheet, Synapse, and Notes sections. Moreover, the ImagelO also become overloaded, and the kernel and RTKit components can contain memory errors. etc.”
SThey says, “Even the Safari Private Browsing and Sandbox have a logic issue and Siri has a lock screen problem along with CoreCrypto’s timing issue.” All of these vulnerabilities could result in system failures, unauthorised code execution, access to private information, and circumvention of security measures.
Precautions to Keep Your Devices Safe
Update software: Make sure your Apple iOS and iPadOS devices are running the most recent versions.
Install security patches: Apply any security patches provided by Apple that address the vulnerabilities identified by CERT-In.
