The collaboration will strive to enhance the products under IITM’s RASA Stack in order to boost farmer income and profitability through climate-wise agri practices education.
WayCool Foods, India’s leading food and agri-tech platform, has formed a strategic alliance with IIT Madras (IITM) to increase farmer services using IITM’s RASA (Regenerative Agriculture Sustainable Architecture) tech stack. WayCool Foods, with its deep understanding and on-the-ground skills, will strengthen the agri-stack by delivering new agri-focused solutions to help India build a robust ecosystem for regenerative agriculture. The MoU inked in the city will also allow WayCool Foods and IITM to synergize their products for the benefit of farmers by assisting them in transitioning to a more sustainable agricultural model.
WayCool Foods will supply technological solutions for seeding and expanding the RASA stack under this freshly signed MoU. It will also provide its domain understanding of the agro supply chain – from soil to sale – to further boost the agri-stack’s design and structure. The cooperation will also strive to collect and spread knowledge about sustainable agricultural practices among farmers.
Mr. Karthik Jayaraman, Managing Director of WayCool Foods, commented on the event, “Partnership with IIT Madras will further boost our ongoing efforts to drive adoption of regenerative agriculture among Indian farmers.” Our on-the-ground experience has shown that farmers benefit financially when they embrace regenerative agricultural practices, increasing their revenue and profitability. The RASA Stack from IITM is one of the country’s most complete agri-stacks for regenerative farming. We are certain that the collaboration of WayCool Foods and IIT Madras will offer farmers access to cutting-edge technology, enabling them to take proactive actions to mitigate climate change as the Indian farmer prepares to feed the world.”
In 2022, IIT Madras created and produced The RASA Tech Stack. The technology stack will assist farmers in monitoring and fine-tuning their growing and harvesting processes in order to maximize their advantages. The stack will manage the whole Farm-to-Kitchen cycle, including cultivation, harvesting, storing/shipping, marketing, and payment.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with WayCool Foods on this fascinating initiative, which forms the foundation of our economy,” stated Dr. M.J.Shankar Raman, CEO of IITM Pravartak. “Through this collaboration, we hope to develop innovative solutions to some of the most pressing issues confronting the farming and agriculture industries today.” We think that by using sensor technology and data science methodologies, we can boost agricultural productivity, minimize waste, and raise farmers’ income. This will also open up new avenues for growth and innovation in this sector.”
