A Fisherman on the Missouri River Recovers a Fossil Estimated to be 90 Million Years Old

This month, Andy Moore caught the biggest fish of his life in the Missouri River.

What we were looking at was a fossil of a fish, not an actual fish.

On a fishing trip near Yankton, South Dakota, Moore

stumbled across the unusual catch.

Moore was competing in a fishing contest from Hiskayak and

was having trouble reeling in a catch.

He was casting a jig when his line tightened and caught on a large rock.

To get his lure off the rock, Moore rowed his kayak there.
