Coca-Cola released a limited-edition flavor of Coke this week which was co-created with AI.

The new flavor is called Coca-Cola Y3000 Zero Sugar, and it's meant to represent what Coke would taste like if we jumped ahead to the year 3000.

To guess the taste of a soft drink 977 years in the future, Coca-Cola turned to AI to "gather insights" and understand "how fans envision the future through emotions, aspirations, colors, flavors, and more."

AI was also used to create the visual identity of the drink, which ended up being a design that "showcases liquid in a morphing, evolving state, communicated through form and color changes that emphasize a positive future."

Y3000 is a limited-edition flavor which Coca-Cola is making available in the United States, Canada, China, Europe, and Africa.

An original taste version is also being made available in the US, which is based on the taste of the 1886 version of Coke.
