Universal Studios Theme Park Closes Major Attractions For Good

Universal Studios is making major changes to its theme park. Fievel's Playland, Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster,

Curious George Goes to Town, DreamWorks Destination, and Donkey's Meet & Greet are being shut down.

The new attractions will be based on "beloved animated characters". George, Fievel, and Woody Woodpecker are all older animated

properties. It would make sense for Universal to mine their DreamWorks roster of characters further. How to Train Your Dragon,

Trolls, Kung Fu Panda, and Illumination's Minions could be added. Universal Studios announced its plans to open Epic Universe

back in 2019. Super Nintendo World is rumored to have a Donkey Kong ride, a Yoshi ride, and a Mario Kart ride. Epic Universe

promises to be a 750-acre park with hotels, shops, restaurants, and more. We'll simply have to keep an eye on the rumors to see

what other surprises Universal Studios has in store for Epic Universe. More Harry Potter attractions and Universal Monsters

areas have been mentioned in rumors. Otherwise, in the summer of 2025, we'll learn when the park actually opens.
