Kaleb Heng, an 18-year-old from California, won $1 million on a scratch-off lottery ticket that his grandmother gave him as a gift.

The ticket was called "The Perfect Gift" and was purchased at Oasis Market in Turlock, California.

Heng scratched the ticket while on his way to a fishing trip with his mother and had to pull over once he realized he won.

He did not have an ID yet, so he had to obtain one before he could claim his prize.

Heng's grandmother bought him the ticket as a birthday surprise for his first day that he could legally play the lottery.

Heng plans to use his winnings to save for college and improve his furniture.

Another man named John Vang also won $1 million on a scratch-off ticket called "Power 10" in Fresno, California.

Vang's brother-in-law gave him the ticket as a Christmas gift from Sunnyside Liquor & IPA Hub in Fresno.

Vang typically plays Powerball and Mega Millions, but does not usually play Scratchers.

Both Heng and Vang are among the many individuals who have won big prizes from the California Lottery.
