Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland has announced the hiring of assistant coaches Achoki Moikobu and Matt Braeuer.

Moikobu and Braeuer are joining McCasland from the North Texas staff.

North Texas won 31 games and the 2023 National Invitation Tournament championship.

McCasland stated that both Moikobu and Braeuer have been instrumental in North Texas' success.

McCasland is excited to have them join his team and help achieve great things.

Braeuer was on McCasland's staff at UNT for five seasons, while Moikobu was an assistant coach for one season.

UNT led the nation in limiting opponents to only 55.8 points per game and were sixth in holding teams to 39.1 percent shooting.

Braeuer helped guide UNT to a 115-47 record and back-to-back Conference USA championships.

Braeuer is a Belton, Texas native and was a three-year starting point guard at Wichita State.

McCasland describes Braeuer as a relentless recruiter with a brilliant basketball mind and a great feel for winning.
