Jeff Gordon is making a surprise return to racing after a lengthy absence.
Gordon is coming out of retirement for the Porsche Carrera Cup
North America, which is sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association.
According to a press release from IMSA, the event will be
presented by the Cayman Islands at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Gordon said that he was anticipating the gathering with great interest.
“Gordon, a NASCAR legend, expressed his excitement about returning to competition.
"I'm looking forward to getting back in a racing vehicle and fighting against a quality field of teams and drivers,” he said.
