Vinesh Phogat wins bronze at World Wrestling Championships

Vinesh Phogat is also the first Indian woman wrestler to win more than one medal in the World Wrestling Championships.

In the bronze medal fight in women's 53 kg freestyle wrestling, Vinesh won the historic achievement by defeating the current European champion

Sweden's Emma Mamgren (score-8-0). Vinesh was bothered by knee injury and pain during the match. During the match, Vinesh pressed his hand on his knee in pain,

World Wrestling Championships in Serbian capital Belgrade today. Vinesh Phogat, who won a medal in the World Wrestling Championship in 2019 as well, shocked the fans

 when he suffered a one-sided (7-0) loss to Asian Championship silver medalist Khulan Batkuyag of Mongolia in the first round.

But as the player who beat Vinesh advanced to the finals, Vinesh qualified for the bronze medal fight by competing in the repashag round. Vinesh won bronze in 2019 as well.

In 2020, the country honored Vinesh with the country's highest sports honor, Major Dhyanchand Khel Ratna Award and Arjuna Award,

which is the highest sports honor of the country, who has won gold in 2018 Asian Games and 2014, 2018 and 2022 Commonwealth Games in 50 kg wrestling.
