After a muted theatrical run despite strong reviews, 120 Bahadur is getting a second life on OTT. The war drama, led by Farhan Akhtar, is now streaming on Prime Video, giving viewers a chance to catch the film from home.
120 Bahadur now streaming on Prime Video
Prime Video confirmed the digital release on Friday with a montage of intense battlefield moments from the film. “64 years back, courage had 120 new names,” read the caption, hinting at the story’s historical weight. The film, which hit theatres in November 2024, struggled commercially despite positive word of mouth.

A story rooted in real heroism
120 Bahadur chronicles the bravery of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who led his men during the legendary Battle of Rezang La in Ladakh. For his extraordinary courage, Bhati was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honour.
Set against the stark terrain of Rezang La Pass, the film pays tribute to the soldiers of the 13 Kumaon Regiment, who fought against overwhelming odds in 1962. Critics praised the film’s grounded performances and realistic war sequences, even as audiences stayed away from cinemas.
Box-office numbers vs critical praise
While the film earned appreciation for its intent and execution, the numbers told a different story. 120 Bahadur reportedly collected around ₹24 crore worldwide against a budget of nearly ₹80 crore, making it one of those war films that found respect but not returns.
Cast, crew and making
Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, in collaboration with Trigger Happy Studios. Alongside Farhan Akhtar, the cast includes Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena and Eijaz Khan in key roles.

Farhan Akhtar on why the story mattered
In an earlier interview, Farhan spoke about how deeply the story affected him. He described the Battle of Rezang La as “the stuff of legends” and said portraying Major Shaitan Singh Bhati stirred a strong sense of patriotism. “It makes you realise how much one can do for their people if they are determined,” he said.
With its OTT release, 120 Bahadur may finally find the wider audience it missed in theatres—especially among viewers who appreciate true stories of courage and sacrifice.
