Skoda has officially dropped the first teaser of the 2026 Kushaq facelift, giving a brief but clear signal that the midsize SUV’s mid-cycle update is right around the corner. Expected to go on sale on January 19, 2026, the refreshed Kushaq will bring visible design tweaks, a more tech-loaded cabin, and safety upgrades, while retaining its familiar turbo-petrol engines.
The teaser video released by Skoda Auto India keeps things deliberately subtle, showing the SUV wrapped in camouflage. Still, the timing lines up with multiple recent spy sightings, suggesting Skoda is now in the final stretch before launch.

A crucial model for Skoda in India
Launched in 2021, the Skoda Kushaq has played a key role in strengthening Skoda’s presence in the competitive midsize SUV segment. Alongside the Slavia sedan and the Kylaq, it forms the brand’s MQB A0 IN-based lineup that helped the Volkswagen Group achieve its highest-ever domestic sales of 1.17 lakh units in 2025.
With rivals constantly updating their offerings, a facelift has been due—and Skoda appears ready to deliver.
What’s changing on the outside
Spy images hint at evolutionary styling updates rather than a full redesign. Expect mild revisions to the front grille, reshaped headlamps, updated bumpers, and a fresh set of alloy wheels. At the rear, changes are likely to be limited to updated tail-lamp internals and subtle detailing, keeping the overall silhouette familiar.
Cabin upgrades and Level 2 ADAS expected
Inside the cabin is where the facelift could make a stronger impact. The updated Kushaq is expected to feature better dashboard materials, new upholstery, and a larger touchscreen infotainment system.
More importantly, Skoda is likely to introduce Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking. Features like ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, and expanded connected tech are also expected, aligning the Kushaq with newer rivals.
Engines remain unchanged
Under the hood, Skoda is expected to stick with its proven turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-litre TSI will continue to produce 115 PS and 178 Nm, while the 1.5-litre TSI will deliver 150 PS and 250 Nm.

Transmission options should include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic, and the 7-speed DSG. There is some speculation around an 8-speed automatic, but Skoda has not confirmed this yet.
More updates coming for Slavia, Taigun and Virtus
The Kushaq facelift is likely the first of several updates from the Volkswagen Group. Similar mid-life refreshes are expected to follow for the Skoda Slavia, along with its Volkswagen siblings—the Volkswagen Taigun and Volkswagen Virtus—particularly focusing on interior tech and safety enhancements.
