“The Vande Bharat Express will encourage business and tourism by connecting key destinations such as Kaziranga Sanctuary, Kamakhya Temple, Manas Tiger Reserve in Assam, Shillong and Cherrapunji in Meghalaya, and Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh,” he claimed.

The Prime Minister made fun of Assam’s past administrations by claiming that the state had been “devoid” of growth for a long period prior to the BJP taking office there in 2016.

The Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri railway is expected to shorten the distance between the two cities travel times by around an hour. The 410-kilometer journey will take five and a half hours to accomplish. This is the 18th Vande Bharat Express service, which started running today (Monday).

At 6:10 in the morning, the train will depart from New Jalpaiguri and arrive in Guwahati at 12:30. At 4.30 pm, the Vande Bharat Express departs from Guwahati, and at 10:20 pm, it reaches New Jalpaiguri.

It will stop at New Alipurduar, Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon, and Kamakhya, as well as the crossroads for New Jalpaiguri and Guwahati, and run six days a week.

On May 28, PM Modi said that the Vande Bharat train’s introduction will boost socio-economic development and promote tourism.

“I will be launching Assam’s first Vande Bharat Express tomorrow, May 29, at noon, and I’m thrilled to do so. This cutting-edge train personifies our dedication to offering speed, comfort, and improved connectivity. Additionally, it will advance socioeconomic growth and increase tourism, he said.

In addition, 182 miles of newly electrified roads will be formally opened by PM Modi, according to a statement from the PMO. As a result, trains will operate faster and for a shorter amount of time, helping to provide transportation that is pollution-free.

Furthermore, it will open the doors to allow electric traction trains to enter Meghalaya.

At Lumding in Assam, PM Modi will dedicate a freshly built DEMU/MEMU shed. According to the statement, this new facility would make it easier to service DEMU rakes used in the area, improving operational viability.
