Sharad Pawar, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, will address a public assembly in Karad, Maharashtra’s Satara district.
According to the NCP, at 10 a.m. today, the party supremo would make a visit to the Preeti-Sangam memorial of his political mentor and Maharashtra’s first chief minister, Yashwantrao Chavan. The party invited Sharad Pawar’s followers to attend the memorial in a tweet. The NCP head will then address party supporters in Karad, along with former Maharashtra head Minister YB Chavan.
“We will travel to Satara to offer our respects at the cemetery of the late Deputy Prime Minister Yashwantrao Chavan.” “Hundreds of thousands of employees are prepared to accompany Sharad Pawar to Satara,” Prashant Jagatap, President of the Pune City NCP, told ANI.
Pawar’s speech in Karad will be the first public gathering since Ajit Pawar, Sharad Pawar’s nephew, joined the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance in Maharashtra and took oath as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister on Sunday, in a surprise and dramatic political move that changed political equations in the state ahead of Lok Sabha and assembly elections next year and has ramifications for national politics.
The decision by Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP MLAs to join the Shinde-Fadnavis cabinet comes amid efforts by opposition parties to establish unity in order to take on the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections next year. Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sharad Pawar was a vocal supporter of opposition unity efforts.
Eknath Shinde slammed NCP chairman Sharad Pawar, saying that although some were talking about “googly,” everyone saw who was clean bowled and that “it’s a hit wicket.”
“This is not an entirely fresh government; the Shiv Sena and the BJP were already in place with PM Modi’s leadership.” “There was work on development going on, and Ajit Pawar, who trusted in development work, supported and joined the government,” claimed Maharashtra Chief Minister.
.
“I heartily welcome him and his MLAs.” He has a large number of MPs and MLAs, which would undoubtedly aid Maharashtra’s growth. This two-engine government will now go at the rate of a bullet train.
“The management of Maha Vikas Aghadi is in turmoil… Some were talking about googly and clean bowled, but everyone saw today who was clean bowled…Shinde commented, “It’s a hit wicket.”
The NCP party has petitioned Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar for the disqualification of its nine leaders.
“We submitted petitions to the Speaker of the Assembly for rejection, and we will send hard copies as soon as possible.” “This disqualification appeal was filed against nine leaders,” according to NCP leader Jayant Patil, adding that a letter was also issued to the Election Commission of India.
