On Saturday, BJP Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey launched a fresh attack on TMC MP Mahua Moitra in the ‘cash for query’ scandal, claiming that the latter’s login credentials for Parliament’s official website were used in Dubai and that the National Informatics Centre had provided this information to probe agencies. The new volley comes after businessman Darshan Hiranandani claimed in an affidavit that he gave the MP gifts and other inducements in exchange for asking questions in Parliament and that he had access to her login credentials. Moitra has rejected all of the allegations.
Dubey, who petitioned Parliament’s Ethics Committee over the claims, wrote on X on Saturday that Moitra’s MP ID for Parliament’s official website was actually used from Dubai while he was in India. He said that the MP “mortgaged” the country’s security for money.
“For some money, an MP mortgaged the country’s security.” The IDs for the Parliament were opened from Dubai. The MP was in India at the time. The whole Indian government, including the Prime Minister, the Finance Department, and central agencies, is on this NIC, and the opposition must play politics. The choice is made by the general population. This information was sent to the investigative agency by NIC,” he wrote on X.
The Lok Sabha’s Ethics Committee has summoned Dubey to testify before it on October 26.
Hiranandani stated in his affidavit that he accessed Parliament’s website using Moitra’s parliamentary login information and posed inquiries aimed at Gautam Adani.
Moitra questioned the affidavit’s reliability on Friday.
“The affidavit is not on official letterhead and is not notarized.” “Unless a gun was placed on his head, why would one of India’s most respected/educated businessmen sign a letter such this on white paper?” she stated in a statement.

“The letter’s contents are a prank. It was plainly written by a half-wit in the PMO who also works as a creative writer in the BJP’s IT department. It sings odes to Modi and Gautam Adani while tying all of their opponents to me and my alleged misdeeds,” she continued.
Later, she stated that the BJP wanted to oust her from the Lok Sabha in order to quiet her.
