With the start of Cybertruck deliveries, Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared a video on X of the electric pickup truck defeating the famed Porsche 911 in a drag race while hauling another Porsche 911.
For comparison, the Porsche 911 isn’t exactly recognized for its drag-racing prowess! However, the fact that the Tesla Cybertruck outperformed it demonstrates the EV’s remarkable performance and capability.
Musk said of the drag racing video he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Beats a Porsche 911 while towing a 911.”
The Tesla Cybertruck comes in three flavors: rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and Cyberbeast. The entry-level rear-wheel drive model costs USD 60,990, while the mid-spec all-wheel drive variant costs USD 79,990 and the top-spec Cyberbeast variant costs USD 99,990. The rear-wheel drive type will not be ready until 2025, but the other two will be available in 2024.
The current pricing of the Tesla Cybertruck is far greater than what the firm indicated when it was launched in 2019. The entry-level model was priced at USD 39,900 at the time.
Tesla has now received over one million Cybertruck orders. The firm presently offers five models: the Model 3, Model S, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck.
The Cybertruck is the first Tesla vehicle to be released after the Model Y debuted in 2020. The Cybertruck was supposed to be delivered in 2021, according to the company’s early plans. However, there were delays owing to production challenges caused by the unorthodox design of the electric pickup truck.
