Motorola has launched its latest mid-range offerings in the United States, named ‘the Moto G Power 5G (2024) and Moto G 5G (2024)’. This Moto G series smartphones are the successors to the Moto G Power 5G (2023) and Moto G 5G (2023).
Moto G Power 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor, whereas the Moto G 5G uses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. Both models have a water-resistant design, support NFC, a 5,000 mAh battery. Here’s all you need to know about this phone’s price and specifications.
Specifications and Features of Moto G Power 5G 2024
The Motorola Moto G Power 5G (2024) features a 6.7″ display (0.2″ larger than the 2023 model), but it remains an IPS LCD with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There are no OLEDs here. Both phones include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and 3.5mm headphone jacks. If we talk about the camera; we have
- 50MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and
- 8MP ultra wide (118°) that also functions as a macro camera
- 16MP front-facing camera for selfie.
The Moto G Power 5G (2024) uses the Dimensity 7020 chipset, which is only a minor upgrade over the Dimensity 930 (in last year’s G Power). On the plus side, the chip now has 8GB of RAM (plus an additional 8GB of virtual RAM) and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The battery is of 5,000mAh capacity which is also unchanged, but the wired charging rate has been doubled to 30W, and Motorola has included 15W wireless charging (a first for the Moto G family).

The Moto G (2024) features the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 processor (the 2023 model used the Snapdragon 480+). This should provide a significant performance boost, despite the fact that this budget 5G model still has only 4GB of RAM (plus 4GB of virtual RAM). The storage is 128GB, and both phones have microSD slots. The display is similar to last year’s, with a 6.6″ LCD and a 120Hz refresh rate, but only in HD+ resolution.
The camera hasn’t changed much either; the main camera of 50MP sensor accompanied by a dedicated macro camera and an 8MP front selfie camera. The battery remains largely unchanged, with 5,000mAh capacity and 18W wired-only charging.
Price & Launch Date
The price of Moto G Power 5G (2024) is $299.99 (approx. Rs 24,854) in the United States and will be available from 22nd March. Whereas the price of Moto G 5G (2024) is $199.99 (approx. Rs 16,569) in the United States and will be available from 21st March.
For Canadian buyers the Moto G Power 5G (2024) will be available from 12th April whereas the Moto G 5G (2024) will be available from 2nd May. Interested one can visit via motorola.ca and amazon.com to be the first buyer.
