The 38-day Yatra officially begins on July 3, but the first batch of yatris will be flagged off from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu on July 2, making their way towards the holy cave shrine in Kashmir.

Devotees Brave the Heat, Driven by Faith

Even before sunrise, long queues began forming at the designated offline registration centres. People came from all corners of the country—some traveling hundreds of kilometers—all united by one goal: to embark on this once-in-a-lifetime spiritual journey.

“The atmosphere here is so energetic. People are happy, hopeful, and not scared,” said one devotee waiting in line.

“I trust in Baba Amarnath. Let the enemies try what they want—we won’t stop. Everyone should come to J&K and show that fear won’t win,” another added with determination.

Two Scenic Routes, One Sacred Goal

Pilgrims this year will once again have the choice of two stunning routes—Baltal and Pahalgam. Both offer majestic Himalayan views, fresh mountain air, and spiritual highs that are hard to describe in words.

From rocky ascents to icy stretches, the journey is not just physical—it’s deeply emotional. That’s why the administration is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to preparations.

Security on High Alert After Past Incidents

To ensure every pilgrim’s safety, the CRPF has ramped up security along the vital Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). Surveillance is tighter than ever, with K-9 dog squads, drone monitoring, and increased highway patrols—especially near the sensitive Udhampur sector.

Recently, a joint mock landslide drill was conducted by the Indian Army, CRPF, J&K Police, and the JKSDRF at Samroli on NH-44 to prepare for any natural emergencies during the Yatra.

Online vs Offline Registration

While online registration had opened earlier this year, today’s launch of offline registration drew massive footfall, showing that digital access hasn’t reached every corner of India just yet—or that some still prefer the traditional route.

Either way, the spirit of the pilgrims is unshakable.

Why Amarnath Yatra Matters So Much

This isn’t just a trek or vacation. It’s a journey of faith, endurance, and devotion. The Amarnath cave, nestled at an altitude of over 12,000 feet, houses the naturally formed ice Shivling, attracting lakhs of devotees every year.

Despite security concerns and weather challenges, the faith remains stronger than fear.
