Arvind Kejriwal News: According to source, “Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reportedly admitted to the Enforcement Directorate during questioning that he could not remember where he had left his cell phone, which he was allegedly using when the tax policy was being prepared.” These sources spoke to India Today TV on Sunday.
The AAP leader was arrested by the Central Enquiry Agency on Thursday in relation to the Delhi Excise Policy issue, and he will be held there until March 28.
According to sources, “Kejriwal allegedly used the phone to speak with Sameer Mahendru, another defendant in the liquor policy case, and the Enforcement Directorate is reportedly trying to obtain some data from the phone.“
The chief minister allegedly told Mahendru over the phone that Vijay Nair was “his boy” and that he could “trust him“.
The AAP media chief, Vijay Nair, was charged by the ED with acting as a go-between for the ‘South Group,’ which allegedly paid bribes totaling Rs 100 crore to the Kejriwal administration in order to gain access to the Delhi liquor retail market.
In the remand request that the central investigative agency filed with the Delhi court on Friday, Kejriwal was identified as the “key conspirator and the kingpin of the Delhi excise policy scam“. It went on to say that he was directly involved in handling criminal proceeds and that, while the policy was being developed, he demanded bribes. But Kejriwal denied the charges, saying that there was no evidence in the now-canceled policy linking him to the alleged scam.
