According to TOI, the subsequent stages of the IPL 2024 could be moved to the UAE, as happened in 2014. Further report says, some BCCI officials are in Dubai to ‘examine potential’ of organizing tournament’s second half in Dubai.
“The poll Commission of India will declare the poll schedule on Saturday at 3 p.m. Following that, the BCCI will decide if the IPL matches should be moved to Dubai. According to the report, a few key BCCI executives are currently in Dubai to discuss the potential of hosting the second half of the IPL.
It has also been reported that a few IPL franchises have gathered their players’ passports as a safeguard in case the second phase of the IPL is moved out of India owing to general elections. However, reports in the BCCI have stated that the league will only take place in India.
A few sources also suggested that the franchises had collected the passports to avoid any validity concerns in the event of any last-minute adjustments.
