Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) competitive examination that was scheduled to be held from January 10 to January 16, 2026. The decision was announced late Monday through an official notice and a post on BPSC’s verified social media handle.
The exam dates had been notified just days ago, on December 27. However, the commission has now cancelled the entire schedule citing “unavoidable circumstances”. Fresh dates will be announced separately on the official website.
Official confirmation from BPSC
In its statement, the Bihar Public Service Commission said the written examination for AEDO under Advertisement No. 87/2025, which was to be conducted in multiple phases across Bihar, will not take place as planned.
“The written examination for Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO)… scheduled from 10.01.2026 to 16.01.2026 (excluding 14.01.2026) is postponed due to unavoidable reasons. The revised dates will be announced on the commission’s website,” the notice read.
No specific reason has been cited so far, but officials confirmed that a new schedule will be shared once preparations are finalised.

What candidates should know
The AEDO examination was planned to be conducted in three phases at examination centres across various districts of Bihar. With the postponement, previously issued admit cards will no longer be valid.
BPSC has clarified that fresh admit cards will be issued once the revised exam dates are announced.
How to download the new BPSC AEDO admit card
Once released, candidates can download their e-admit cards by following these steps:
- Visit the official website: https://bpsconline.bihar.gov.in
- Log in using your registered credentials
- Go to the My Account section
- Click on the relevant advertisement number
- Select View/Download Admit Card
- Check details such as exam district, centre code, and timings
- Take at least two printouts of the admit card
- Ensure the roll number and barcode are clearly visible
Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre at least 2.5 hours before the scheduled start time, as entry will be allowed only up to one hour before the exam begins.
