The new Vantage, like the new Aston Martin DB12, features a significantly overhauled interior. This incorporates a new 10.25-inch infotainment display that runs an in-house created user interface and offers a variety of connection choices. The brand’s physical buttons on the center console and other locations remain, with surfaces coated in carbon fibre or a variety of unique materials that may be tailored to each customer’s specifications.
Aston Martin has maintained to use the Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which now delivers 665bhp and 800Nm of torque. This means that the V8 Vantage can now equal the performance of the earlier V12 Vantage, sprinting from 0 to 100kmph in 3.5 seconds and reaching a peak speed of 325kmph. The engine includes redesigned cam profiles, compression ratios, and improved cooling, and the turbochargers are bigger than previously. This works in tandem with the re-calibrated 8-speed gearbox, allowing the Vantage to accelerate and shift faster.
The new Vantage has adaptive dampers that may adjust the reaction speed and control depending on the driving style. To create a more direct steering feel, the engineers removed the rubber from the steering column, resulting in ‘non-isolated’ steering. Aston Martin has also stiffened the Vantage, adding 29% extra rigidity under load to the rear.
Aston Martin now sells the DB12, DBX, and DBX 707 in India, as well as the pre-facelift Vantage, which cost Rs 2.95 crore (ex-showroom). The redesigned Vantage is slated to arrive in India this year, with pricing starting at Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom).
