Hrithik Roshan, who stars in the upcoming action flick Fighter, recently described being a star as a ‘burden’ in an interview with flick Companion. When asked about it in an interview with the same source, Shahid Kapoor stated that he had the ‘reverse issue.’
While promoting his forthcoming film with Kriti Sanon, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid was asked about Hrithik’s recent comments regarding stardom. Shahid said, “I understand why he is saying that. I have the opposite dilemma; I don’t want to lose my acting ability, therefore I occasionally forgo stardom. I’m on the opposite side of the fence. His journey is completely different from mine. Consider Leonardo DiCaprio, Amitabh Bachchan, and Dilip Kumar, all of whom have achieved celebrity through extensive acting careers. I grew up watching that and aspire to it.”

Hrithik recently told Film Companion that being a star is ‘unhealthy’ in several respects. He stated, “I would soar as an actor if I didn’t have the pressure of being a star. Stardom is a gift, it is a duty, it fills the bank, and I intend to use it wisely. Do not get me wrong. There is a lot of adrenaline and pressure. There have been several occasions when I have been unable to complete a film because I must maintain the star aspect. It’s one of the most distracting aspects of my work as an actor. I’d rather invest on my emotions than on my appearance. I look forward to a moment when the pressure is relieved. There is no escaping in flicks like Fighter and War.
