The Supreme Court has issued a public warning regarding a phishing assault on a bogus Supreme Court website.
In a public notification, the Supreme Court strongly encouraged the general people not to click or distribute links they receive without first confirming their legitimacy. The Court further said that it does not want any personal, financial, or sensitive information from any person.
The Notice is written as follows:
The Supreme Court of India’s Registry has been made aware of a phishing assault. A bogus website imitating the official website has been constructed and hosted at URL 1 – http://cbins/scigv.com and https://cbins.scigv.com/offense.
2. The attackers are soliciting personal information and private information via the URL – https://cbins.scigv.com/offence “Offence of Money-Laundering.” Visitors to the aforementioned URLs are highly warned not to share or divulge any personal or private information since doing so will allow the offenders to steal the information.
3. The Registry strongly warns the general public not to click or distribute links they receive without first confirming their legitimacy. Please keep in mind that the Registry of the Supreme Court of India will never request personal information, financial details, or other sensitive information. Please keep in mind that the Supreme Court of India owns the domain name www.sci.gov.in, and that you should always linger over the URL before clicking on it.
4. If you were a victim of the aforementioned phishing assault, please change your passwords for all online accounts and notify your bank or credit card provider to report such unauthorized access.
5. The Supreme Court of India’s Registry has taken note of the phishing attack and has alerted law enforcement agencies to investigate it and bring the offenders to justice.
