The wait for the GATE 2026 admit card has just gotten a little longer. IIT Guwahati, the organising institute for this year’s Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), has deferred the release of the hall ticket, which was earlier scheduled for January 2, 2026. A revised date is expected to be announced soon on the official website.
Candidates are advised to keep a close eye on official notifications, as the admit card is a mandatory document for entry into the examination centre.
What IIT Guwahati Said on the Delay
IIT Guwahati has informed applicants that the revised admit card release date will be shared shortly through the official GATE portal and related alerts. While no specific reason has been officially cited, such delays are usually linked to final technical checks, verification of candidate data, or last-minute coordination of exam centres to avoid discrepancies on hall tickets.
