This fast expansion eventually offers up opportunities for companies in terms of market access, mentors, and financing. The commitment of I-Venture @ ISB is to continually grow and generate possibilities for the startup ecosystem, whether for entrepreneurs or supporters.
The incubator recently began onboarding firms in the healthcare area through the I-Heal@ISB program, and it has also established the groundwork for helping edu-tech startups through the EduRise program. This is due to I-Venture@ISB’s emphasis on domain-specific initiatives, in which domain-renowned mentors and investors will work directly with companies, fine-tuning them with their knowledge and experience. I-Venture @ ISB is already in discussions with entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters from diverse ecosystems to bring everything together on one platform for better interactions and deeper participation.
I-WIN 2.0 (Women of Innovation), their freshly launched second set of flagship projects, brings forward female entrepreneurs. I-WIN 1.0, the last cohort, funded 16 female-founded/co-founded enterprises. The initiative, which lasted six months, had a ‘Demo Day’ on September 24, 2022, to commemorate the completion of the first batch.
I-WIN is already encouraging enterprises founded/co-founded by women to scale up by combining hands in whatever manner imaginable. Thirteen of the 16 founders presented their businesses to investors. This led to a series of conversations, transaction negotiations, and, eventually, investment. Three startups are currently nearing the end of their transactions.
“It is critical that innovation, entrepreneurship, and startups become an element of the story in India and are seen as a career option for the youth,” says Professor Bhagwan Chowdhary, Faculty Director i-Venture @ISB. We hope that as many individuals as possible would take advantage of and apply to the i-Venture @ ISB programs, where we are boosting the entrepreneurial spirit of the country.”
In addition to sponsoring and incubating programs, I-Venture @ ISB conducts events that help to establish a stronger startup ecosystem in the country.
