Anant Ambani, 28, has been a director of Reliance Group enterprises, including Jio Platforms, since March 2020. Since May 2022, he has also served on the boards of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd., as well as Reliance New Energy and Reliance New Solar Energy.
“At 28 years of age, our selection of him as a non-executive, non-independent director is incompatible with our voting guidelines,” the announcement went on to say.
The appointment of the three Ambani brothers is likely to take effect before December 31, 2023, according to the corporation.
“IiAS will make exclusions to this rule provided the director is a first-generation promoter or founder.”
In August, Mukesh Ambani appointed his children to the board of the oil-to-telecom company after Nita Ambani stepped down. Ambani intends to stay on as chairman and managing director for another five years.
During this time, he will train his children to help Reliance become a green energy and digital giant.
