The statement stated the mall management filed an FIR and took suitable action in opposition to those who “maliciously” attempted to organise prayers withinside the public area.
Mumbai: Three days after a big controversy over a video purportedly displaying a group of people doing namaz in the recently inaugurated Lulu Mall in Lucknow, the mall management has in a statement stated that eighty per cent of its personnel are Hindus.
The explanation comes after allegations that the mall was biased in its employment coverage and gave preferential treatment to Muslims. The LuLu Group International, the parent organisation of the mall, is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Lulu Mall Lucknow management rubbished charges of a Muslim bias, announcing it is a very professional organisation that conducts business with zero discrimination.
It stated that all our employees are employed on the basis of capabilities and merit, and not based on caste, class, or religion. The Lulu shopping mall was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on July 10th.
It’s saddening that a few selfish elements are looking to target our establishment, it stated, in addition to clarifying that their personnel include 80 per cent Hindus, while the rest of them are Muslims, Christians and numerous different communities.
The statement stated the mall management filed an FIR and took suitable action against the ones who “maliciously” attempted to organise prayers withinside the public area. Two people had been recently arrested when they entered the Lulu Mall on Saturday and began reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, police stated.
At least 15 others had been detained for growing a ruckus whilst looking to enter the shopping mall. This comes after police lodged an FIR beneath neath sections 153A (promoting enmity between distinct groups) and 295A (deliberate act supposed to outrage religious feelings) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against a group of unidentified those who allegedly done namaz at the mall recently.
The case was registered on criticism from the representatives of the mall, who claimed that those visible withinside the video had been not their staff members. The shooing mall was recently inaugurated by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on July 10. The biggest mall in UP has been opened by the Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group – led by Indian-origin billionaire Yussuf Ali M A.
Protests held
The mall, which is run by distinguished UAE-based businessman Yusuf Ali MA, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath last week. Two days after the event, 8 people allegedly carried out namaz on the premises, whose video went viral on July 13. It caused protests by Hindutva groups which even targeted the CM for permitting a Muslim-owned agency to start a business withinside the city. They alleged that 80% of the team of workers might be drawn from the minority community.
