Trinamool Congress (TMC) said on Thursday that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee injured and her forehead bleeds after falling in the vicinity of her home. She was taken to the state-run Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial (SSKM) hospital in Kolkata. Afterwards, she was shifted to the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences at the IPGME&R – SSKM Hospital Centre in Kolkata for further treatment.
How was Mamata Banerjee Injured?
According to the Trinamool Congress, West Bengal Chief Minister was in hospital for many hours on Thursday night after suffering a forehead injury. TMC released photographs of her laying on a hospital bed with blood spots on her forehead. The 69-year-old leader suffered a fall inside her Kalighat residence in south Kolkata. This was after returning from a programme, her family reported.
She was rushed to Kolkata’s state-run SSKM Hospital and admitted to the Woodburn Ward. The TMC supremo got few stitches and medical tests at a government-run hospital. Shewas then before physicians determined she was stable enough to be released. She was then dishcarged.
All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) shared a post on X in which her forehead can be seen bleeding and wrote, “Our chairperson @MamataOfficial sustained a major injury. Please keep her in your prayers.”
Several Leaders wish for fast recovery
Political leaders wished her a speedy recovery. This was after the AITC shared pictures of Mamata Banerjee in the hospital with an injury on her forehead.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X, wishing Mamata Banerjee a quick recovery. His post says “I pray for the best health and quick recovery for Mamata Didi.”
Shashi Tharoor, MP of Congress, reacted to the pictures and said he was “shocked” to see her in this situation. He wished the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata a “swift and complete recovery”.
Sukanta Majumdar, state BJP president, wished for the recovery of Mamata. She said, “We wish CM Mamata Banerjee a quick recovery. We pray that she recovers and returns to normal health soon.”
CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, also posted and wrote on X, “Pray for your speedy recovery, Didi. God bless you.”
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, opposition leader of Lok Sabha also wished Mamata Banerjee a quick recovery.
TDP chief and Former Andhra Pradesh CM N. Chandrababu Naidu wrote on X, “Wishing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Ji a speedy recovery. May she recover her health soon.”
