Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to refresh one of its most successful compact SUVs. The Brezza facelift, expected to arrive in India sometime in 2026, has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. While the overall shape remains familiar, the updates point towards a more premium cabin, advanced safety tech, and subtle design tweaks aimed at keeping the Brezza competitive in a fast-evolving segment.
The Brezza has been a strong seller for Maruti Suzuki since its debut in 2016, and the upcoming update looks focused on features and technology rather than a radical overhaul.
Familiar shape, fresh detailing
Spy images of the test mule show heavy camouflage, but the silhouette is largely unchanged. That said, the facelifted Brezza is expected to feature a revised front grille, a reworked bumper design, and minor changes at the rear. A sharper rear windscreen and the presence of four rear parking sensors hint at added safety and convenience upgrades.
The intention seems clear: keep the Brezza instantly recognisable while giving it enough visual updates to feel new.
Cabin upgrade with tech focus
Inside, the biggest talking point is expected to be a larger touchscreen infotainment system, likely with improved connectivity features. The cabin is also tipped to get a refreshed layout with more premium upholstery.
Higher variants could introduce features such as powered and ventilated front seats and even a panoramic sunroof — a first for the Brezza. These additions would help it better rival feature-rich competitors in the compact SUV space.
Level 2 ADAS to boost safety
Safety is where the 2026 Brezza facelift could take a significant leap. Reports suggest the SUV may offer a Level 2 ADAS suite, a feature still rare in this segment. Alongside this, it is expected to come with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and hill-hold assist as standard across more variants.
If introduced at the right price, this could be a major differentiator for Maruti Suzuki.
Same engine, better efficiency expected
Mechanically, the Brezza facelift is likely to stick with the current 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. As before, buyers can expect petrol, mild-hybrid, and CNG options.
However, the 2026 update may bring an underbody-mounted CNG tank, freeing up boot space. Minor engine tweaks are also expected to improve overall fuel efficiency, keeping running costs low — a key reason behind the Brezza’s popularity.
What to expect next
Maruti Suzuki has not officially confirmed the launch timeline yet, but with test mules already on the road, more details should emerge over the coming months. When it arrives in 2026, the Brezza facelift will aim to balance familiarity with meaningful upgrades, especially in safety and in-cabin tech.
