If you appeared for NEET UG 2025, here’s an important update you don’t want to miss. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has just released the provisional answer key for this year’s NEET UG exam, and it’s now available for download on the official website — neet.nta.nic.in.
This is your chance to double-check your answers and raise objections if you spot any errors. But act fast — the deadline to submit challenges is June 5, 2025.
What’s New: Provisional Answer Key + Response Sheets
Along with the answer keys for all question paper codes, NTA has also dropped the scanned copies of your OMR response sheets. This means you can see exactly what you marked during the exam and compare it with the official key.
The exam was held on May 4 across a whopping 4,750 centres in 557 cities across India, plus 14 centres abroad, with a total of 22.7 lakh candidates appearing.
How to Check Your NEET UG 2025 Answer Key
Here’s a quick step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Head over to neet.nta.nic.in
Step 2: Click the link for the “Provisional Answer Key Challenge”
Step 3: Log in using your application number and date of birth
Step 4: View your answer key and response sheet
Step 5: If you find any errors, go ahead and submit your objections
Keep in mind: There’s a ₹200 non-refundable fee for each question or answer you challenge. So make sure your objections are solid — you won’t get the money back if the challenge isn’t accepted.
What Happens After You Raise an Objection?
Once all objections are submitted, an expert panel will go through them. Based on their review, the final answer key will be released in a few days. But here’s the thing: NTA won’t individually tell you if your challenge was accepted or not. You’ll need to check the final answer key yourself to see if any questions were dropped or changed.

A Look Back: What Happened Last Year?
In 2024, NEET UG was held on May 5 for over 24 lakh students. The provisional answer key came out on May 29, objections closed on May 31, and results were released on June 4. But due to a controversy, a re-exam was conducted on June 23. The new answer key dropped on June 28, and revised results were finally declared on July 26.
So if anything seems off this year, don’t panic. NTA has a process in place.
Bottom Line?
Check the answer key ASAP, and if you spot something that doesn’t sit right, raise your challenge before June 5. This is your shot to make sure your score reflects what you truly earned.
