1. Tata Sierra EV — The Legend Returns

The iconic Tata Sierra is making a comeback, and this time, it’s fully electric. Scheduled to arrive in early 2026, the Sierra EV will follow its ICE sibling, expected later this year.

Built on Tata’s advanced Gen 2 EV platform, the Sierra is rumored to offer two battery pack options with a range of around 500 km. Inside, expect luxury-like touches — a triple-screen dashboard, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and even Level 2 ADAS.

It’ll likely sit above the Tata Curvv EV in the lineup, targeting those who want sophistication and sustainability in one package.

2. Mahindra XEV 9S — India’s First INGLO SUV

Mark your calendar for November 27. That’s when Mahindra officially launches the XEV 9S, the first electric SUV built on its INGLO modular platform.

Based on the XUV.e8 concept, the 9S will bring futuristic design, twin battery options, and a real-world range of up to 500 km. Expect plenty of performance too — Mahindra’s EVs have been tuned for instant torque and smooth drivability.

The XEV 9S is set to rival the Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti e Vitara, and Tata Harrier EV — making this a battle worth watching.

3. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara — Nexa’s Big EV Moment

After months of teasers, Maruti Suzuki is finally ready to join the EV race with the e Vitara. The model will be built at the company’s Gujarat plant and sold via Nexa showrooms across India.

Buyers will get 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery choices, offering a strong range that easily crosses the 500 km mark. Inside, the e Vitara will feature a large touchscreen system, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, and a suite of ADAS functions.

It’s Maruti’s most tech-forward car yet — and it’s coming to challenge the segment’s best.

4. Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV — The Premium Twin

Rounding off the list is Toyota’s upcoming Urban Cruiser BEV, developed in partnership with Suzuki. It shares its core platform — the Heartect e architecture — with the Maruti e Vitara but brings Toyota’s distinct design and premium flair.

Expect dual screens, OTA updates, wireless charging, and a clean minimalist cabin. With two battery options and a 500+ km range, Toyota’s BEV will slot right into the competitive midsize EV bracket.

Launch is expected in early 2026, marking Toyota’s first mainstream electric SUV for India.

2026 might just be the year India’s electric SUV revolution truly begins.
