The Railway Recruitment Board has revised the exam schedule for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment 2025–26, advancing the start date of the CBT 1 examination. Candidates preparing for the exam should take note of the updated dates and upcoming release timelines for city slips and admit cards.
Revised RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam Schedule
According to the latest notification issued on January 30, the RRB ALP CBT 1 exam will now be conducted on February 13, 16, 17 and 18, 2026. Earlier, the examination was scheduled only between February 16 and 18. The revision adds an extra exam day at the start, likely to accommodate a large number of candidates.
This recruitment drive aims to fill 9,970 Assistant Loco Pilot vacancies across multiple railway zones in India.

Aadhaar Verification Advisory for Candidates
RRB has once again reminded candidates to ensure that their Aadhaar is unlocked in the UIDAI system before reporting to the exam centre. This applies even to those who completed Aadhaar verification during the application process. Keeping Aadhaar unlocked will help avoid last-minute issues during biometric verification and exam-day registration.
City Intimation Slip and Admit Card Timeline
The board has clarified that the RRB ALP 2026 city intimation slip will be released at least 10 days before the exam, likely in the first week of February 2026. This slip will only mention the city where the exam centre is located.
The admit cards (hall tickets) will be issued after the city slip and are expected to be available around four days before the exam date. RRB has clearly stated that no admit cards will be sent by post.
Mandatory Documents on Exam Day
Candidates must carry:
- A printed copy of the RRB ALP admit card
- The same original photo ID mentioned in the application form
Without these documents, entry to the examination hall will not be permitted.
