The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a short notice announcing around 22,000 vacancies for Level-1 posts under the 7th Pay Commission. The notice is meant to give early information to job aspirants, with the detailed notification expected to follow soon. Applications will be accepted online only through the official portal, rrbapply.gov.in.
What the short notice says
According to the notice issued by the Railway Recruitment Board, the recruitment drive will cover various Level-1 (7th CPC Matric Pay) posts, with a starting basic pay of ₹18,000 per month. The vacancy count is tentative and may be revised once the full notification is released.

Application dates to note
The online application window will open on January 21, 2025, and close on February 20, 2025, at 11:59 pm. RRB has clarified that this is only a short notice, issued to keep candidates informed in advance about the upcoming Centralised Employment Notice (CEN).
Age limit
- Minimum age: 18 years
- Maximum age: 33 years
Age relaxations, if any, will be detailed in the full notification.
Educational qualification
Candidates must have:
- Class 10 (Matriculation) pass from a recognised board
- ITI qualification, where applicable
RRB has advised applicants to carefully check the detailed eligibility criteria once the final notification is published before submitting their forms.
Aadhaar linking is mandatory
RRB has made it clear that Aadhaar verification is compulsory during the application process. Candidates must ensure:
- Name and date of birth on the Aadhaar card exactly match the Class 10 certificate
- Aadhaar details are updated before filling the online form
Any mismatch could lead to rejection at later stages.
