New Delhi: According to the findings of the Central government’s annual cleanliness survey, which were released on Saturday, Surat and Navi Mumbai tied for second place with Indore as the cleanest cities in India for the sixth consecutive year.

Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022: Previous Winners

Prior to Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh had won the “Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022” category for best performing state.

This year, the top two large cities were still Indore and Surat, but Vijayawada dropped to third place behind Navi Mumbai.

According to the poll results, Tripura has earned the top spot among the states with fewer than 100 urban local bodies.

At a ceremony held here on Saturday, President Droupadi Murmu presented the prizes to the winners. In addition to Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs.

Panchgani in Maharashtra was placed first among cities with a population of under one lakh. Followed by Patan (NP) in Chhattisgarh and Karhad in Maharashtra.

Haridwar, Varanasi, and Rishikesh were found to be the cleanest Ganga towns in the category of towns with more than 1 lakh residents. PTI BUN Bijnor was rated as the top town in the Ganga region with fewer than a lakh residents. Kannauj and Garhmukhteshwar are next, respectively.

According to the poll, Deolali in Maharashtra was named the nation’s cleanest cantonment board.

The seventh edition of Swachh Survekshan was performed to assess the Swachh Bharat Mission’s (Urban) progress. And rank Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) according to different standards for cleanliness and sanitation.

From an evaluation of 73 cities in 2016 to 4,354 cities this year, the Survekshan has grown.
