Ghaziabad: The two men who opened fire outside actor Disha Patani’s Bareilly home last week were gunned down in an encounter near Ghaziabad’s Tronica City on Wednesday. Police confirmed the accused—Ravindra alias Kallu from Rohtak and Arun from Sonipat—were active members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang and wanted in several cases.
How police tracked them down
The big breakthrough came when cops spotted the same motorcycle used in the September 12 Bareilly firing. A joint team of the Uttar Pradesh STF, Delhi Police, and Haryana STF closed in, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire. Both shooters were critically injured and later died in the hospital.
Gang link and motive
The Goldy Brar gang had already taken responsibility for the Bareilly attack in a social media post, claiming the Patani family had “disrespected Sanatana Dharma” with remarks against saints Premanand Maharaj and Anidruddhacharya Maharaj.
Cops say the shooters’ real target was Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Patani, a retired police officer. According to the FIR, Jagdish was awake around 3:30 am when his dogs alerted him to suspicious movement near his balcony. Moments later, he heard one of the attackers say, “Kill him,” before shots rang out. Luckily, Jagdish managed to take cover behind a balcony pillar and escaped unhurt.

CCTV footage tells the story
The attackers fired several rounds, including two aerial shots, before fleeing. CCTV footage of the incident has since surfaced, showing the men on a motorcycle opening fire in the dead of night.
Yogi Adityanath stepped in
After the incident, UP CM Yogi Adityanath personally called Jagdish Patani and directed police to solve the case quickly. Security was beefed up around the Patani residence, and cops pulled crime records from neighboring states to track the shooters.

Weapons recovered
From the encounter site, police recovered a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and several cartridges. Officials say the investigation is far from over, and efforts are on to nab other members of the gang
