The Uttar Pradesh Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA) has released the full counselling calendar for UP DElEd 2025–27 admissions. Online counselling will begin on January 12, 2025, but the numbers tell a bigger story—despite massive seat availability, more than 1.15 lakh seats are expected to go vacant this year.
The schedule follows a rank-wise, phased process on the official portal updeled.gov.in, with multiple windows for fee payment, choice filling and seat allotment.

Key dates and phased counselling process
Fee payment and preference filling
- State Rank 1 to 1,24,230
- January 8 to February 10, 2025
- Counselling fee: ₹5,000
First phase of seat allotment
- Rank 1–20,000: Choice filling Jan 12–14 | Result Jan 15
- Rank 20,001–70,000: Choice filling Jan 15–18 | Result Jan 19
- Rank 70,001–1,24,230: Choice filling Jan 19–22 | Result Jan 23
Admission deadline for first phase: January 30 (till 6 PM)
Second phase of counselling
- February 5–8: Choice filling for candidates from other states and unallotted UP candidates from OBC, SC, ST and special categories
- February 9: Seat allotment result
- February 9–12: Open choice filling for all candidates (Rank 1–1,24,230)
Admissions window: February 11 to 21 (till 5 PM)
Final reporting by institutes: February 23, 2025
Academic session begins: February 24, 2025
Over 1.15 lakh seats expected to remain vacant
As per the official notice, admissions are being conducted for 2,39,500 seats across Uttar Pradesh. This includes 10,600 seats in 67 government DIETs and 2,28,900 seats in 3,304 private and minority colleges.
However, only 1,24,230 candidates have registered for UP DElEd 2025. Even if every applicant secures admission, around 1,15,270 seats—nearly half the total capacity—will remain unfilled. The gap highlights a continuing trend of declining interest in elementary teacher training programmes across the state.

Important guidelines candidates should note
Candidates must strictly follow their rank-specific counselling windows for choice filling and admission. The ERA has also clarified that if reserved-category seats (OBC, SC, ST and others) remain vacant after exhausting all eligible candidates, those seats will be converted to unreserved during the final stage of the second phase.
All counselling updates, notices and links will be available only on the official UP DElEd website. Candidates are advised to avoid third-party portals and rely exclusively on official communications.
