Vietnamese EV maker VinFast has stepped up its electric two-wheeler game with the launch of four new electric scooters, alongside a rapid expansion of its battery swap network. The move signals the company’s intent to make electric mobility more practical and less time-consuming for everyday riders.
Battery Swap Network Scales Up Fast
VinFast confirmed that around 4,500 battery swap stations are already operational as part of the first phase. The bigger push, however, is what’s coming next. By the end of the first quarter of 2026, the company plans to deploy nearly 45,000 battery swap cabinets across 34 provinces and cities.

Once fully rolled out, the network is expected to outnumber conventional fuel stations. For riders, that means swapping a drained battery in minutes instead of waiting around for a full charge—one of the biggest pain points in electric two-wheeler ownership.
Three Swap-Ready Scooters, One Licence-Free Option
To support this growing ecosystem, VinFast has introduced three new battery swap-compatible scooters: Evo, Feliz II and Viper. Each model is aimed at a different type of rider, from daily commuters to those wanting a bit more performance.
The fourth addition is the Amio, a pedal-assisted electric scooter that falls under the licence-free category. Lightweight and simple, it’s clearly targeted at younger users and short-distance urban travel.
Viper Leads the New Line-Up
Sitting at the top of the range, the Viper brings a noticeable step-up in design and features. It gets a newly developed chassis, LED projector headlamps and a smart key system that supports vehicle tracking, remote search and theft protection.
Ride comfort is improved with dual rear shock absorbers featuring external oil reservoirs. Power comes from a 3,000 W BLDC in-hub motor, allowing the Viper to hit a top speed of up to 70 kmph.
Feliz II and Evo: Same Idea, Different Flavours
The Feliz II matches the Viper’s motor output and performance figures, while the Evo uses a slightly smaller 2,450 W in-hub motor. Despite that, both scooters are capable of reaching similar top speeds.
For those who want a simpler, regulation-friendly option, the Evo Lite caps its speed below 50 kmph and does not require a driving licence—making it suitable for first-time or younger riders.
Range, Batteries and Ownership Benefits
All three battery swap scooters use twin under-seat battery slots, each housing a 1.5 kWh LFP battery designed for durability and thermal safety. With two fully charged batteries, the Evo claims a range of up to 165 km, while the Viper and Feliz II are rated for up to 156 km under standard riding conditions.

To drive early adoption in its home market, VinFast has opened advance bookings for the Evo range and rolled out aggressive ownership benefits. These include zero down payment schemes, limited-time discounts, free battery swapping for the initial months and complimentary access to public charging stations until mid-2027.
Bigger Picture
With new products and one of the largest battery swap networks in the segment taking shape, VinFast is clearly betting on convenience as the key to wider EV adoption. If executed as planned, the strategy could reshape how riders think about charging—and waiting—for electric scooters.
