In March 2024, WhatsApp announce the development of its new feature called Chat Interoperability” that allow users to be able to send a message to WhatsApp from another apps third-party apps like Signal, Telegram.
The New Feature Will Allow Users To:
- Choose which third-party apps they trust,
- Opt for that third-party apps whenever they want,
- Cross messaging using WhatsApp on that third party app,
- Develop a dedicated chat info screen for third-party chats.
WhatsApp main purpose here to be able to chat with users from other platforms without having to install that other app.
In response to Europe’s Digital Markets Act, WhatsApp is actively working on a chat interoperability feature. This feature let users to send messages to third-party apps like Signal or Telegram directly from WhatsApp.
This big changes for users. As now you don’t need to switch between different apps to chat with friends and family. Whether you are chatting on Messenger, Signal, or Apple iMessage, WhatsApp will seamlessly integrate all messages from these platforms into its interface.
