Gujarat Giants, RCB, and UP Warriorz participated in a fierce bidding battle for the player, but Gujarat Giants were successful in acquiring him for 2 crore. Annabel Sutherland of Australia has become the most priced foreign player so far in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auctions for 2024. Sutherland was acquired by Delhi Capitals for 2 crore after a bidding battle with Gujarat Titans, who had the most places to fill in the WPL 2024 auctions.

Vrinda Dinesh, India’s batter, also fared well in the auctions, with numerous clubs showing interest in the player. The player was eventually sold to UP Warriorz for 1.3 crore. Gujarat Titans, who had the most positions to fill, also signed another high-value player, Phoebe Litchfield, for 1 crore.
South African pacer Shabnim Ismail has also piqued the interest of teams, with Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians vying for his services. The player was eventually sold to the reigning champions Mumbai Indians for 1.2 crore.

Kashvee Gautam, a right-arm seamer, went unsold in the WPL auctions last year. The young athlete did not allow the setback affect her game, instead working on her pace and seeking continuous input from team scouts. Although her domestic performance suggests consistency, she showcased her abilities in this year’s Women’s T20 tournament by taking 12 wickets in seven matches while maintaining a strong economy rate of 4.14.
