Jaipur: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has suffered a serious legal setback ahead of IPL 2026. A Jaipur POCSO court on Tuesday rejected his anticipatory bail plea in a case involving allegations of rape and sexual exploitation of a minor. The decision has significantly increased the risk of his arrest, although legal options remain open.
What the court said
The POCSO Court No. 3 of Jaipur Metropolitan-I observed that, at this stage, there appears to be no basis to suggest the accused has been falsely implicated. Citing the seriousness of the allegations and available material, the court dismissed Dayal’s plea for pre-arrest protection.

Is arrest imminent?
The rejection of anticipatory bail does not automatically mean immediate imprisonment. Dayal can still approach the Rajasthan High Court seeking relief. However, if higher courts do not grant protection, the possibility of arrest cannot be ruled out.
FIR registered in July
The case dates back to July 2025, when an FIR was registered at the Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur. The complaint alleges that the cricketer sexually assaulted a 17-year-old minor, invoking provisions under the IPC and the POCSO Act. Since the FIR was filed, Dayal has largely stayed away from competitive cricket.
Impact on RCB and IPL plans
Yash Dayal is part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore setup in the Indian Premier League. With IPL 2026 preparations expected to begin later this year, the ongoing legal battle places a cloud over his availability and future with the franchise.

More updates are awaited.
