Kawasaki has finally dropped the much-awaited 2026 Z1100 in India, and enthusiasts are already buzzing. Priced at ₹12.79 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Z1100 marks the comeback of one of the most iconic nameplates in the brand’s supernaked lineup. The bike was first revealed globally in September 2025, and its India debut now positions it squarely against the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP and other litre-class streetfighters.
A Sharper Take on the Sugomi Design
The 2026 Z1100 sticks to Kawasaki’s bold ‘Sugomi’ design philosophy, borrowing inspiration from the Z1000. You get a crouched stance, an aggressive low-mounted headlamp, and a clean, upswept tail.
The visual differences are small but noticeable — a new undercowl, wider handlebars, and a single-side exhaust, giving it a slightly more muscular yet minimalist streetfighter appeal.
Kawasaki is offering the standard variant in a sleek Ebony/Metallic Carbon Grey colour scheme.

Updated TFT Display & Loaded Electronic Package
The new Z1100 gets a 5.0-inch TFT display, seemingly the same unit used on the Z900. It supports Bluetooth and offers handy extras like turn-by-turn navigation, music control, and call/SMS alerts.
The bike is stacked with electronic aids, including:
- 3-level traction control
- Wheelie control
- Bidirectional quickshifter
- Cruise control
- Dual-channel ABS
- Two power modes (Full, Low)
- Four ride modes: Rider, Sport, Rain, Road
This puts the Z1100 right up there with modern big-capacity streetfighters in terms of tech.
More Power, Smoother Cruising
At the heart of the Z1100 sits a 1,099cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine borrowed from the Ninja 1100 SX. It produces 134 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 7,600 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Kawasaki has tweaked the gearing to make highway cruising feel more relaxed — an important update for riders who want everyday usability without compromising the thrill.
Strong Chassis, Bigger Brakes
Underneath, the bike uses the same twin-tube aluminium frame from the Ninja 1100 SX, supported by fully adjustable Showa suspension. Braking gets an upgrade with larger 310mm front discs (compared to the Ninja’s 300mm), gripped by Tokico radial calipers.
It runs on the familiar Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres seen on the Z900, giving it a proven grip and stability setup.

A Strong Rival in the Litre-Class Naked Segment
With a competitive price tag, punchy performance, and strong electronics, the 2026 Kawasaki Z1100 becomes a serious challenger to rivals like the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, Suzuki GSX-S1000, and even the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS.
For riders looking for a mix of aggression, everyday practicality, and Japanese reliability, the new Z1100 hits a sweet spot — and its India launch just made the segment a lot more interesting.
