A five-year-old child was reportedly raped by a self-proclaimed’sadhu’ who happens to be the victim’s neighbour. Police have apprehended the accused, and the girl has been taken to the district hospital for a medical evaluation.
Police said a case has been filed in connection with the incident, which occurred on Friday afternoon in a slum area within the jurisdiction of Haridwar’s Kankhal police station.

The girl’s parents claim she was playing outside her home when the accused allegedly raped her.
“After receiving the report, we arrested the accused and performed a medical evaluation. We’re waiting for the report. Further action will be taken depending on the examination findings. Bhavna Kainthola is the SHO of Kankhal police station.
