In an interesting turn of events, a woman from Bengaluru spilled coffee on her Apple MacBook and then sued the corporation. She didn’t blame Apple for the blunder. Instead, she filed a lawsuit because, despite having an Apple Care+ subscription, she was required to pay for the coffee spill repairs. However, the woman lost her case because Apple successfully argued that the harm caused by liquid spells was not covered by Apple Care+.
According to the Times of India, a 31-year-old lady treated herself to a new MacBook Pro 13-inch laptop on a typical day in January. It was a significant investment at Rs 1,74,307, but she went above and above by spending an additional Rs 22,900 on AppleCare+. This insurance offered a safety net against unintentional damage, offering to cover a wide range of unforeseen events.

Her success with the laptop, however, was fleeting. The disaster happened just a few days after she received her new technological device. The woman accidentally spilled her coffee over the keyboard, causing the gadget to shut down. Panicking, she dashed to the store, filing a complaint and grudgingly handing up her now-caffeinated MacBook.
She decided to take matters into her own hands after being dissatisfied with the store’s answer, which claimed that the liquid-caused internal damage was not totally covered by AppleCare+. On January 23, she marched to the third extra district consumer disputes redressal panel, armed with frustration and a desire to seek justice. Her objectives? Apple India Pvt Ltd, iCare Ample Technologies, and Imagine Store have all been accused of deception in their commercial operations.
The consumer court spotted an important omission: she got her laptop repaired by Apple’s approved service center on February 4. This critical material was lacking from her lawsuit, prompting the court to call her case into doubt. Her allegation ultimately failed to stand up.
“Every Mac comes with 1 year of hardware repair coverage through its limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary technical support,” according to Apple. AppleCare+ for Mac provides coverage for three years from the date of purchase and includes unlimited occurrences of accidental damage protection, each subject to a service cost of Rs 8900 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or Rs 25900 for other accidental damage.”
AppleCare+ for Mac covers repairs performed by Apple-approved specialists anywhere in the globe. It includes the following:
— Repairs for your Mac computer
–Battery replacement
–Accessories such as a power adapter
–Apple random access memory (RAM)
–iTunes USB SuperDrive
What’s the best part? It also safeguards against unintentional harm! However, there is a cost if an accident occurs: Rs 8900 for screen or outer cover damage, or Rs 25900 for other sorts of accidental damage.
