In June of this year, Tim Cook unveiled Apple’s first virtual reality headset, the Vision Pro. The gadget, dubbed a “new type of computer,” was presented during WWDC, and since then, people have been waiting with bated breath to get an opportunity to check it out for themselves. Apple has not officially confirmed a release date for the Vision Pro. However, speculations indicate that the headgear will be available in January or February 2024.

Online leaks of Apple Vision Pro covers
Images of the official cover of the Apple Vision Pro have been leaked online, according to a MacRumours story based on a patent discovered by PatentlyApple. Based on the patent specifications, it looks to be a protective cover.
According to the source, a closer look at the file reveals that the cover appears to be meant to fit on the headband and is probably constructed of a woven material similar to Apple’s FineWoven covers for iPhones. According to the photographs in the post, this cover appears to just hide the front glass portions of the headset, leaving the rest exposed.
A pull-tab arrangement is shown in the pictures, presumably to make it easier for users to remove the cover from the headset. Simple and functional.
Looking ahead, more first- and third-party accessories for the Vision Pro will be available when it launches next year. Apple may also be working with Zeiss on lens inserts, which might be a solution for those who use prescription glasses.
It will be fascinating to see what accessories will follow the Vision Pro as Apple prepares to launch its first new product line in over a decade.
Apple Vision Pro will be released in January?
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, a TF International Securities analyst, mass shipments of the Apple Vision Pro would begin in the first week of January 2024, according to a previous Wccftech article. The initial batch is expected to reach customers in late January or early February, as predicted by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Despite a projected 500,000 shipments, Apple Vision Pro is the company’s most crucial product for 2024, according to Kuo.
Kuo’s sales predictions, however, diverge from prior reports, with Jiemian’s study predicting 400,000 units at launch, rising to one million by the end of 2024. Despite the disparities, the headset’s positive reaction, despite its hefty $3,499 price tag, suggests that overblown estimates may be at work. Kuo’s estimate looks more feasible, despite the fact that the expert has previously proven wrong.
According to previous rumors, Apple is training its retail shop personnel to use and sell the Vision Pro ahead of its arrival. Employees in a number of US retail businesses will allegedly receive specialized training. The AR/VR headset’s complexity and specific nature necessitates unique setup and changes for users.
The Vision Pro training sessions are set to begin in January, with each shop employee undertaking a two-day training session. The emphasis of these lessons will be not just on how to set up and use the sophisticated headset, but also on effective marketing strategies to potential consumers.
